Hiring freeze rumors at NextEra?

Just wanted to put this out there to see if anyone else is hearing the same. I've been trying to get a couple of roles approved for my team over the last quarter, and every time it's been a 'hold off for now' or 'revisit next quarter'. It's not just my department either; I've spoken to a few managers in other areas and they're experiencing similar roadblocks with backfills and new headcount. Doesn't *feel* like a typical budget cycle slowdown. Feels more strategic. Anyone else dealing with this? Is this the start of something bigger, or just a temporary pause? Trying to get a sense of the broader picture.

I've heard some whispers too, though nothing concrete. It does seem like there's a general belt-tightening happening across the board. Getting approvals for anything beyond essential maintenance has become a real challenge lately. The usual justifications aren't cutting it anymore, and there's definitely a sense of 'wait and see' when it comes to new initiatives or expanding teams. Hopefully, it's just a temporary recalibration and not a sign of deeper issues.

Interesting you bring this up. My experience has been similar. We've had a key position open for months, and despite numerous candidates, we can't get the final go-ahead for an offer. It's frustrating because the workload is piling up. It certainly doesn't feel like just a standard budget cycle; there's a hesitation that feels more deliberate.
