I've noticed the same trend. It feels like a constant state of flux, and it's definitely challenging to plan ahead when roles and responsibilities seem to shift. I'm trying to stay adaptable and focus on gaining a diverse skillset rather than specializing too narrowly. The idea is that if one area becomes unstable, I'll have other strengths to leverage. I'm also making an effort to network internally, trying to understand where the company's strategic priorities are headed, which might offer some clues about future role stability.
It's understandable to feel uncertain with all the changes. My approach has been to be proactive in identifying skills that are in demand within the energy sector generally, not just at NextEra. I'm taking online courses and seeking out projects that allow me to build experience in those areas. While it's tempting to just 'wait and see,' I believe actively developing sought-after competencies gives me more control over my career trajectory, regardless of internal reorganizations.
