Culture shift at Nordson: Is the 'NBS' still working?

Is it just me, or has the 'Nordson Business System' completely lost its way? I feel like we spend 90% of our time in meetings talking about process improvement while the actual talent is walking out the door in waves. Every time a new round of layoffs is announced, the workload for the survivors doubles, but the expectations stay exactly the same. It's a recipe for burnout. I talk to people in other departments and it’s the same story everywhere—low morale, lack of clear direction from upper management, and a constant fear that your badge won't work on Monday morning. I used to be proud to work here, but now it just feels like we're being managed by a spreadsheet. Are we heading toward a future where we’re just a shell company for PE to pick apart? Curious if anyone else in the engineering or operations side feels like the ship is taking on water.

It’s been happening for a while now. The focus shifted from operational excellence to pure metrics and box-ticking. NBS used to be a tool to help us work better, but now it’s just used to justify constant meetings and ridiculous reporting requirements. You're right about the talent drain; the people who actually know how to get things done are tired of carrying the load for those who just manage spreadsheets. It's not sustainable, and everyone can feel the ship taking on water.
