NT: Performance review cycle feels different this year...

Curious if others at Northern Trust are feeling the same way about the recent performance review cycle. Mine felt unusually compressed, and the feedback was a bit vague, even for my manager. Usually, there's more concrete discussion about goals and development, but this time it felt like they were just going through the motions. Coupled with the general market downturn and some whispers about budget tightening I've overheard, it's making me wonder what the implications are. Not sure if this is just my experience or if it's a broader shift in how they're assessing performance this year. Anyone else have thoughts or observations?

Yeah, I've noticed that too. The compressed timeline definitely made it feel rushed, and the feedback wasn't as detailed as I'm used to. It's a bit unsettling when you're used to a more structured process, especially with the current economic climate. Hoping it's just an adjustment period and things will get back to normal soon.

Completely agree. The whole process felt like a formality this year. I usually get actionable insights for growth, but this time around it was pretty generic. Combined with the talk about budget constraints, it's hard not to feel a bit anxious about what's coming next. Definitely not the usual Northern Trust thoroughness.
