Anyone else notice hiring freezes alongside budget reviews?

Just wondering if anyone has noticed that while we're still technically hiring for certain critical roles, the overall pace has slowed to a crawl? Seems like requisitions are getting stuck in approvals forever, and there's a lot of internal discussion about tighter budget controls. This is happening even as we're told the company is performing well. It feels like a disconnect. Usually, when budgets get squeezed this hard, it's a precursor to something more significant down the line, like RIFs or at least a significant slowdown in raises/bonuses. Has anyone actually seen official communication about a hiring freeze or budget cuts, or is this just the general feeling on the ground? Trying to gauge if I should be worried or if this is just standard end-of-year budget shuffling.

Definitely seeing the same thing. The 'critical roles' hiring is a very selective trickle, and everything else feels like it's on indefinite hold. It's a weird vibe when leadership is talking about strong performance but the day-to-day hiring process feels like pulling teeth. Makes you wonder what's really going on behind the curtain. Yeah, that disconnect is palpable. We're being told things are rosy, but the hiring pipeline feels like it's been dammed up.
