Georgia site hit—another round of small cuts

Just saw the latest paperwork go through for the Georgia facility. It’s a small number, but we’ve all been around long enough to know these 'isolated' layoffs are usually the start of a trend. It’s the classic corporate play: chip away at the edges so you don’t trigger the major media outlets or mass notification requirements. The morale in my group is hitting an all-time low. We’re being told to hit aggressive project milestones with fewer hands on deck, all while they quietly trim the workforce to keep the shareholders happy. It’s the same old story at Northrop. You give them your best years, and they decide your role is 'redundant' the second the quarterly projections dip. If you’re at one of the sites that hasn’t been touched yet, don’t get comfortable. Keep your LinkedIn active and start networking outside the company because they definitely aren't prioritizing loyalty right now. If anyone knows if more departments are scheduled for restructuring in Q3, please spill. Tired of the corporate guessing game.

It’s the same old story. Leadership loves to talk about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining,' but we all know that's just code for squeezing more out of the people who haven't been handed a pink slip yet. The irony of asking for increased productivity while simultaneously thinning out the staff is completely lost on management. I've seen this cycle repeat every few years, and it never ends with things getting better for the folks on the ground. Everyone is just looking over their shoulders now, waiting to see who is next on the list.
