Is anyone actually safe at NG right now?

Between the Muncie cuts and the constant rumors circulating about other divisions, I’m starting to wonder if anyone is truly safe. Every time I log into Teams, I’m half-expecting to see a calendar invite for a 'quick sync' with HR. The company talks about securing national defense contracts, but it feels like the internal defense against bad management is nonexistent. I’ve been here for three years and I’ve never seen the morale this low. People are literally just doing the bare minimum to stay under the radar, hoping they aren't the next ones selected for 'restructuring.' It’s exhausting watching talented teammates get pushed out while the executives keep talking about shareholder value. Has anyone heard if these layoffs are strictly performance-based or if they’re just hitting based on salary bands to save cash? I have a bad feeling that 2025 is going to be even worse once the fiscal year closes. Looking for some real talk from people who have been through these cycles before—is it time to jump ship now while the market is still somewhat decent?

Honestly, the Muncie situation was a massive wake-up call for everyone across the divisions. It feels like the era of job security is officially dead, and we're just waiting for the next round of 'restructuring' to hit. I’ve seen so many talented people jump ship lately that the brain drain is becoming impossible to ignore. If you’re feeling uneasy, trust your gut—the communication from leadership is just empty corporate speak while they scramble to manage the bottom line at the expense of our livelihoods.

You aren't imagining things; morale is at an absolute basement level. It’s reached the point where the 'quick sync' invite is a genuine trigger for anxiety because nobody trusts the messaging from the top anymore. While they keep pumping out press releases about defense priorities, they’re cutting the very people who actually get the work done. Don't feel guilty about doing the bare minimum right now—take care of yourself first, because this company has made it very clear that employees are just numbers on a spreadsheet to them.
