Is it just me or is the workload insane lately?

Seriously, feels like we're being asked to do more with less, and the deadlines are getting tighter and tighter. I'm seeing a lot of burnt-out faces around the office (or on calls, for that matter). My team is swamped, and we've had a couple of people leave recently with no immediate plans to backfill. Combined with the low morale thread and the general quiet on the layoff front, it's starting to feel a bit ominous. Is management pushing us to the brink, or is this just the typical defense contractor grind amplified? Curious to hear if others are feeling the same pressure. It's hard to stay motivated when you feel like you're constantly drowning. Wondering if anyone has found ways to manage the stress or if there are any internal resources that are actually helpful.

This sounds like a familiar story. The defense sector can be feast or famine, and right now it feels like we're in the 'feast' phase, but with a skeleton crew. It's a balancing act between meeting critical deadlines and maintaining a healthy work environment. Management needs to recognize the strain and find ways to alleviate it, whether through better resource allocation or more realistic timelines. Burnout is real.
