Anyone else hearing rumors about Q3 restructuring?

Is it just me, or does the energy in the office feel off lately? I’ve been hearing whispers from a few folks in Basel about another round of 'strategic alignment' coming down the pipeline before the end of the year. Every time leadership mentions 'simplifying the operating model,' it usually translates to headcount reduction in my experience. I’m in one of the R&D groups, and we haven’t been given any clear directives on upcoming projects for next year. It feels like we are just spinning our wheels waiting for the other shoe to drop. Has anyone else heard anything concrete from their VPs, or is this just standard paranoia ahead of the quarterly results? I’m trying to decide if it’s time to start polishing the resume or if I’m just reading too much into the usual corporate buzzwords.

The 'strategic alignment' rhetoric is definitely becoming a tired script at this point. I've been through enough of these cycles to recognize the pattern before the official announcement even drops. If your R&D group is being kept in the dark about next year’s roadmap, it’s a massive red flag. Keep your resume updated and start networking outside the company now, because management rarely shares their true intentions until the very last second. Protect your own interests while you wait for the hammer to fall.

Honestly, the lack of transparency is the most frustrating part of the current culture. I’ve noticed the same shift in energy across my department; everyone seems to be walking on eggshells waiting for the other shoe to drop. It’s hard to stay focused on long-term projects when you’re constantly worried about whether your role is on the chopping block. Hang in there, but try not to let the speculation consume you—it’s out of our hands anyway. Focus on your deliverables and hope for the best, but stay prepared for anything.
