Nucor - Any whispers about potential RIFs?

Hey everyone, checking in on Nucor. Haven't seen any official news or even strong rumors, but with the general economic climate and steel market fluctuations, I'm starting to get a little antsy. Anyone in the field, or with connections, hearing anything at all? Been with the company for a few years and things seem stable on the surface, but you never know what's brewing behind closed doors. Trying to get a sense of the general sentiment across different plants or departments. Is anyone noticing any unusual hiring freezes, budget cuts, or just a general shift in management's tone? Appreciate any insights, even if it's just anecdotal feelings. Trying to prepare myself mentally just in case, but hoping it's all quiet on that front.

I've been hearing similar rumblings, though nothing concrete. The market has definitely been a rollercoaster lately, and while Nucor is usually pretty resilient, it's understandable why people are getting nervous. I haven't personally seen any signs of layoffs in my area, but I'm keeping my ears open. Hopefully, it's just the usual market jitters and not something more serious. Always best to be prepared, though, right?

No direct word from my end, but the general economic headwinds are undeniable. Steel prices have been all over the place, and that naturally makes everyone a bit uneasy about job security. I'm in a different division, but the vibe seems to be one of cautious optimism rather than outright panic. Let's hope the company's strong track record holds up. It's tough when there's so much uncertainty floating around.
