Nucor - Quiet on the hiring front lately?

Been seeing a lot of chatter on here about other companies slowing down, and it got me thinking about Nucor. Haven't heard any official word or seen any big announcements, but it feels like the pace of hiring has definitely slowed down compared to a year or two ago. Are departments just being more selective, or is there a broader slowdown happening that management isn't talking about? Anyone in HR or a hiring manager at Nucor have any insight they can share, even anonymously? Just trying to get a pulse on where things stand. Worried about job security if things really tank, but also curious about career progression if the pipeline is drying up. Let me know what you're seeing on the ground.

I've noticed a similar trend. It's hard to say for sure without inside information, but it does seem like the massive hiring push from a couple of years ago has definitely cooled off. Companies often adjust their hiring based on market demand and future projections. It's possible they're just being more strategic with open positions now, focusing on critical needs rather than rapid expansion. Keep an eye on their quarterly reports and industry news, that might give more clues than forum chatter.

It's definitely a common observation across many industries right now, not just Nucor. The economic climate is a bit uncertain, and companies tend to tighten their belts a bit during these times. Rather than a complete hiring freeze, it's more likely a shift towards a more measured approach. They might be prioritizing internal talent development or being more rigorous in their vetting process for external candidates. It's a smart business move to be cautious when the future isn't crystal clear.
