Nucor - What's the vibe at your plant/office?

Hey everyone, just wanted to start a thread to see what the general mood is across different Nucor locations. Things feel… a bit uncertain lately. Lots of economic headwinds out there, and while Nucor has always been resilient, it’s hard not to feel a little uneasy. Are people still busy with work, or are projects getting pushed back? Any whispers about cost-cutting measures beyond the usual? Not looking for rumors, but more for observations from everyday work life. Is morale holding up? Are managers being transparent, or is it radio silence? Any shared experiences would be helpful. Trying to gauge the overall sentiment. Stay safe out there.

Honestly, things feel pretty status quo here. We're still humming along, production targets are being met, and there haven't been any major shifts in project timelines that I've noticed. Maybe it's our specific division, but the general feeling is still focused on getting the job done. I haven't heard any specific chatter about cutbacks beyond the standard operational efficiencies we always aim for. Morale seems stable, people are just putting in the work.

There's definitely a bit of a buzz about the wider economy, but within the plant walls, it's business as usual for the most part. We're busy, and the pace hasn't really changed. I've heard a few indirect comments about being mindful of expenses, but nothing concrete that would suggest major cost-cutting. People seem to be keeping their heads down and focusing on their tasks. Morale is decent, though I think everyone's keeping an eye on the news.
