Hey everyone, seeing a lot of chatter about the steel industry in general, and thought I'd check in specifically about Nucor. Haven't heard any concrete layoff news, which is obviously good, but the market feels a bit uncertain right now. Anyone on the floor or in management notice any significant shifts in workload, project pipelines, or just general hiring freezes/slowdowns? Feels like some departments are busier than ever while others are a bit more quiet. Just trying to get a sense of the overall sentiment and if anyone's seeing anything that might hint at future staffing adjustments, positive or negative. Curious to hear what others are observing.

Been hearing similar things. Definitely a mixed bag depending on the division. Some plants are running full tilt, barely keeping up with orders, while others seem to be pacing themselves a bit more. Management's been pretty tight-lipped about the future, but there's a general sense of caution in the air, though not panic. Been a few whispers about slowing down on some non-essential projects to conserve resources, but nothing that screams widespread cutbacks.

Yeah, the workload definitely feels uneven. My team's been slammed, working mandatory overtime for months straight. Other guys I know in different departments are talking about slower production lines and fewer new hires coming on. It's hard to get a clear picture because the company is so large and diverse. Still feels like we're in a decent spot compared to some other industries, but you can feel the market fluctuations impacting things, for sure.
