Is the recent ARM news a precursor to something bigger?

So Softbank's ARM is looking at layoffs after the Nvidia deal fell through. While it's not directly Nvidia layoffs, it's in our ecosystem, and ARM is a pretty significant partner/player. It just adds to this general unease in the semiconductor space, you know? We've seen layoffs at other chip companies, and even though Nvidia seems to be doing well overall, it's hard not to feel a bit anxious when you see these ripple effects. Anyone else think this kind of news, even if indirect, should be a wake-up call? Or is it just noise and we should focus on our own performance and the company's strong position? Just trying to gauge the general mood and see if others are connecting these dots or if I'm overthinking it. It's tough when the broader industry is shaky, even if your own house seems solid.

Yeah, it's definitely unsettling. Even though the Nvidia deal didn't go through, ARM is so central to so many designs, including things that might eventually compete with or complement Nvidia's own offerings. Seeing layoffs there, especially after such a significant potential acquisition falling apart, does paint a broader picture of caution in the industry. It makes you wonder if the good times can last, or if this is just the calm before a storm for some segments.
