Jensen's recent comments on AI layoffs – just PR or genuine?

So, Jensen is out there publicly calling out other CEOs for using AI as a convenient excuse to slash headcount. It’s definitely a bold look, especially given the state of the broader tech sector right now. Don't get me wrong, I love the sentiment, but is there actual substance behind it, or is this just high-level PR to keep morale from cratering while everyone else is panicking? Internally, we’re obviously feeling the pressure to keep shipping at breakneck speed, but I haven't heard a whisper about actual reduction plans. Still, with how much FAANG has been cutting, it’s hard not to look over your shoulder, regardless of how well the stock is performing. Anyone else feeling like the 'we aren't doing layoffs' stance is getting harder to maintain if growth eventually cools off? It feels like we are in a massive bubble, and if the momentum shifts even a little, the culture might pivot fast.

It is classic corporate posturing. When you are sitting on top of the world with record-breaking margins and endless demand for your hardware, it is easy to take the moral high ground. He knows exactly how optics work; by distancing himself from the brutal cost-cutting trends seen elsewhere, he cements the brand’s image as a high-growth, meritocratic titan rather than a company cannibalizing itself to please shareholders. It is a calculated move to keep top-tier talent from jumping ship to competitors while the rest of the industry burns through their workforce.
