Is a reorg imminent? Everything feels very quiet

It’s been suspiciously quiet on the floor lately. Usually, we have a steady stream of project updates and roadmaps for the next two quarters, but everything seems to have hit a hard pause. My manager canceled our last two 1-on-1s, and he’s been spending all his time in closed-door sessions with HR and the higher-ups. I’ve been around long enough to know that when the communication vacuum starts, bad news usually follows. I’m not seeing any official layoff reports or confirmed announcements yet, but the lack of transparency is starting to get to everyone on my team. People are definitely nervous, and the productivity has basically cratered because everyone is just doom-scrolling and checking the internal directories for changes. Does anyone have any insight into what’s happening at the leadership level? I’d rather know what’s coming instead of waiting for the inevitable invite to a meeting that doesn't have an agenda. Trying to stay professional, but the anxiety is real right now.

The silence is definitely deafening right now. I’ve noticed the same pattern in my department—budget freezes and delayed project approvals are stacking up, which usually signals that leadership is preparing for a restructuring or a pivot in the coming quarter. When the regular cadence of meetings disappears and managers start acting like they’re hiding something, it’s rarely because things are going well. Keep your resume polished and start tracking your recent contributions just in case the situation shifts suddenly.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. NXP often goes through these phases of 'strategic realignment' where management retreats to figure out the next fiscal cycle. It feels quiet because the focus has shifted heavily toward clearing out legacy inventory and streamlining operations for the upcoming product launches. Everyone is anxious because the market environment is tough, but don't let the lack of constant updates spiral into paranoia. Focus on your deliverables for now and wait for the official town hall.
