Hey all, been at PACCAR for a few years now in engineering, and lately, the atmosphere feels… different. It's hard to put my finger on it exactly, but there's a palpable sense of unease. People are a bit more tight-lipped in meetings, and there's a noticeable lack of the usual camaraderie. Coffee break chats seem shorter, more guarded. I've seen a few roles quietly disappear over the past few months, not through official announcements, but just… gone. It makes you wonder what's brewing under the surface. Management's communications haven't exactly been reassuring either, lots of vague talk about 'efficiency' and 'strategic realignment.' Anyone else picking up on this? Am I just being paranoid, or is there something actually going on that we're not being told? Curious to hear if others are feeling the same way across different departments or locations.

Been hearing similar whispers around the place. It's definitely a shift from how things used to be. The energy feels more subdued, and you can sense people holding back a bit more. Makes you wonder if there's a larger strategy shift happening that hasn't been communicated clearly, or if it's just the general economic climate creating some anxiety. I feel you. It's tough when the day-to-day atmosphere changes without a clear reason. The lack of open communication is what gets to me the most. When people start watching what they say, it kills the collaborative spirit that usually makes PACCAR a good place to work. Seeing roles disappear without explanation is definitely unsettling. Hoping for more transparency soon, because this uncertainty isn't great for morale. Stay vigilant and look out for yourself and your colleagues.
