Palantir interview prep - what are they really looking for?

I have an interview coming up for a software engineering role at Palantir. I've been grinding LeetCode and reading up on their technologies, but I'm still a bit unsure what to expect. I heard they really value problem-solving skills and independent thinking. Anyone have recent interview experiences they can share? What kind of questions did they ask? Any specific areas I should focus on? I want to make sure I really nail this interview. Thanks in advance!

From what I've heard, they really dig deep into your thought process more than just getting the right answer. Be ready to explain *why* you chose a certain algorithm or data structure. They want to see how you approach complex problems, even if you don't solve them perfectly on the spot. Practice talking through your code out loud – it helps them understand your reasoning.

Honestly, all the LeetCode grinding might not be enough. They're looking for people who can handle ambiguity and build *real* solutions, not just textbook algorithms. I knew someone who aced all the technical questions but didn't get an offer because they couldn't articulate how their skills would translate into solving actual business problems. Think about how you can apply your knowledge to real-world scenarios.
