It’s hard to stay motivated when you see your colleagues getting walked out. I know 114 people sounds like a statistic to corporate, but those are real people I’ve worked with for years. The 'do more with less' mantra is getting old real fast. We’re already stretched thin, and now the remaining team is expected to pick up the slack without any additional support or clarification on priorities. At what point does the operational risk outweigh the cost savings they’re chasing? I'm honestly exhausted. I keep checking the intranet for updates, but of course, it's just corporate fluff about 'strategic realignment.' If anyone has any leads on other industrial companies that are actually hiring and treating their staff with some level of decency, please feel free to drop a hint. I think I’m done with this place.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s the same story every time; they slash headcount to bump the share price, completely ignoring the fact that the actual work doesn't shrink. When you lose that much institutional knowledge, everything starts to break eventually. Don’t burn yourself out trying to cover for their poor planning. Just do what you can during your shift and leave the rest on the desk. Your health and sanity aren't worth the cost of their short-sighted bottom-line management.

Hang in there. I’ve seen this cycle at Parker more than once, and it never gets any easier. Management always focuses on the optics of 'operational efficiency' while the people actually running the machines or managing the accounts are left to drown in the fallout. You aren't responsible for the lack of resources or the broken priorities coming from above. Take care of yourself first, and if things don't stabilize, don't feel guilty about looking elsewhere for a place that values retention over these constant, demoralizing cycles of layoffs.
