PIP quotas and 'performance' changes

Is it just my department, or is management suddenly hyper-focused on arbitrary metrics that weren't even on our radar three months ago? I’ve been hearing a lot of whispers about 'efficiency audits' lately. The mood in the office is genuinely tense, and the usual cheerleading during the all-hands feels even more forced than it did last quarter. It feels like they are setting people up for performance plans just to thin the herd without having to do a formal RIF announcement. If you're seeing a sudden influx of weird, unattainable KPIs in your sprint goals, watch your back and start dusting off the resume. I’d rather be prepared and paranoid than caught off guard when the 'voluntary' departures start picking up.

It is definitely not just your department. Everyone is feeling the exact same shift in pressure. Management has been pushing these new performance metrics aggressively, and it is pretty obvious they are using these 'audits' as a way to push people out quietly. When the goals change overnight without any actual infrastructure support, it is a clear sign that they are trying to trim the headcount under the guise of poor performance. Update your resume now, because the writing is on the wall for a lot of teams.

Honestly, the vibe at Paycom has shifted from productive to paranoid in a very short window. I have seen the same thing happen with the sudden focus on tracking things that were never monitored before. It is frustrating to sit through those all-hands meetings hearing about company culture while everyone knows people are being set up to fail. If you are feeling that tension, listen to your gut—it is not in your head, and you are not the only one noticing the pattern.
