LA office closures/cuts - are we seeing a pattern?

So I saw the WARN notice hit for that single position in the LA office that officially ended on Jan 3rd. It feels like a drop in the bucket, but we all know how these things start. They trim one or two here and there to avoid hitting mass layoff thresholds, and then suddenly the whole department is gone a quarter later. Has anyone else heard if there are more reductions coming for the S. Flower St. location, or is this just standard end-of-year housekeeping? I’ve been feeling uneasy since the holidays. Leadership is being tight-lipped as usual, and the internal memos are just fluff about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining.' If you’re based in LA or work closely with that team, please weigh in. Are people jumping ship, or are we just waiting for the next shoe to drop?

It’s never just a single role, is it? I’ve seen this playbook before at previous companies. They do the slow bleed strategy to keep the public notification requirements at bay while they quietly reorganize. If you’re seeing these individual notices, definitely update your resume and start networking now. The anxiety is usually a signal that leadership is trying to keep things quiet while the internal restructuring takes place. Don't wait for a company-wide email to see the writing on the wall; trust your gut and start looking elsewhere while you still have the leverage of being currently employed.

Honestly, I think you might be reading too much into a standard housekeeping move. Companies cut redundant or niche roles all the time after fiscal year-end reviews, and it doesn't always signal a mass exodus. Paylocity has been aggressive with growth, so sometimes they realize a specific branch doesn't need as many heads as they originally projected. Stay calm for now—if there were mass layoffs coming, the internal chatter would be much louder than a single WARN notice. Just keep doing your work and wait to see if any actual department-wide changes materialize next quarter.
