India office hit hard today - 220 gone just like that

Woke up to the news about the 220 people impacted in India. It’s brutal. Half the team I worked with on the merchant services integration last year are suddenly offline. No warning, just a locked account and a Slack message that doesn't go through. It feels like we are in a constant state of flux here. Are we even aiming for 'profitability' anymore, or is it just cutting the bone until there's nothing left to run the platform? The 'new chapter' talk is becoming a running joke on the internal channels. I’m starting to wonder if anyone is safe at this point, regardless of performance ratings or project criticality. If you’re still in, keep your resume updated and start pinging your network. This place feels like a sinking ship.

It is honestly disgusting how they handle these layoffs. Locking accounts and cutting access instantly is such a dehumanizing way to treat people who have contributed years to the platform. Whatever 'efficiency' they are chasing, they are losing the institutional knowledge that actually keeps the systems running. My heart goes out to everyone affected in India today; this isn't just a business move, it's a massive failure in leadership and basic empathy.

I have been watching the stock and the internal trends for a while, and this feels like the classic playbook of a company that has lost its vision. Instead of innovating, they are just trimming the fat until they are hitting muscle. It is clear that the focus has shifted entirely to short-term optics for investors rather than building something sustainable. If they keep burning through talent like this, there won't be anyone left to fix the technical debt they are accumulating.
