Is anyone else feeling the 'new chapter' fatigue?

Between the 220 people cut in India and now the big San Jose announcement, it feels like there isn't a single department left that isn't under the knife. I’m honestly struggling to find the motivation to keep up with these sprint cycles. How are we supposed to 'innovate' or focus on product roadmap when we’re all just looking over our shoulders waiting for our access to be revoked? The messaging from leadership has been so detached—talking about growth and fintech dominance while simultaneously gutting the teams that actually build the platform. It’s hard to ignore the reality that we’re just numbers on a spreadsheet to these people. I’ve started applying elsewhere because I’m tired of the weekly anxiety spikes. Anyone else in the same boat, or are you guys trying to wait it out to see if the dust settles?

The dissonance between the corporate rah-rah emails and the actual reality on the ground is reaching a breaking point. It is impossible to care about the product roadmap or 'fintech dominance' when your desk neighbors are disappearing one by one. Leadership expects us to act like it's business as usual, but the morale here is completely shattered. Honestly, at this point, checking your inbox every morning feels like playing Russian roulette. It’s hard to focus on sprinting when you’re just trying to survive the next round of cuts.

I stopped believing the 'growth' narrative months ago. Every time they talk about 'streamlining' or 'efficiency,' it’s just code for another round of restructuring that leaves those of us remaining with twice the work and half the resources. The constant state of fear has completely killed any appetite for innovation. Why pour your soul into a feature that might never ship or a team that could be dissolved by next Friday? Save your energy for your own career search because this place is clearly just focused on the bottom line at the expense of everyone who built the product.
