Anyone else worried about the next round?

It feels like we’re in a constant state of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Since the Chino news, it seems like leadership has been pushing harder on 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' which we all know is just code for more cuts. I’ve noticed a lot of people in my department updating their LinkedIn profiles and I honestly can’t blame them. The communication from the top has been absolute garbage—we get these vague town halls about 'optimizing our footprint' while the stock price keeps doing its thing. If you’re at one of the larger sites, are you seeing any signs of a hiring freeze or projects getting shelved? I’m genuinely tired of the uncertainty and looking for a way out before the next round of notifications hits. It’s hard to stay focused when you feel like a headcount on a spreadsheet rather than an employee.

The mood in the office is completely toxic right now. Management loves to throw around buzzwords like 'synergy' and 'right-sizing' while the rest of us are left guessing if we have a job next month. It’s impossible to stay focused when you’re constantly wondering if your department is next on the chopping block. The lack of transparency from the top is insulting; they treat us like line items on a spreadsheet rather than actual people. Honestly, it’s only a matter of time before the best talent jumps ship entirely.

I’ve been with Pentair for a while, and the shift in culture lately is night and day. It used to be about innovation and quality, but now it feels like every single decision is dictated by short-term optics to appease the street. The Chino situation was just the beginning of this downward spiral. When leadership stops being honest with their own teams, you know it’s time to move on. If you’re waiting for the dust to settle before looking elsewhere, you might want to reconsider. Better to be proactive than caught off guard when the next round hits.
