Heard whispers about restructuring in PBNA...anyone else?

Okay, so I've been with Pepsi Beverages North America for almost 8 years now, in a sales planning role. Lately, there's been a weird vibe. My manager, who's usually super chill, has been MIA a lot, and when I do catch him, he's vague and stressed. Overheard him on a call last week mentioning 'synergies' and 'streamlining' which, let's be honest, usually means layoffs are coming. Anyone else hearing anything similar? Specifically within PBNA? Trying to brace myself, and figure out if I need to dust off the resume.

Yeah, I'm in a different department (marketing), but I've sensed the same thing. Lots of closed-door meetings and hushed conversations. "Synergies" is definitely corporate speak for job cuts. Dust off your resume and start networking, even if you don't end up needing it. Better safe than sorry. Good luck!

Honestly, these rumors pop up every couple of years. Remember the whole 'Project Blue Ocean' thing? Everyone panicked, and it turned out to be just a minor reshuffling. Maybe it's real this time, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Focus on doing your job well and try not to get caught up in the gossip. Easier said than done, I know!
