Honestly, it's really tough to say. PepsiCo severance packages can vary quite a bit depending on your level, department, and how well they like you (sadly). 2 weeks per year is a decent starting point, but definitely try to negotiate! See if you can get them to cover outplacement services or extend your benefits for a few months. As for notice, brace yourself for the worst, hope for the best. Sometimes they walk you out, sometimes they give a few weeks. Keep your resume updated either way!
Four years? Yeah, you're probably looking at somewhere between 8-12 weeks, maybe a bit more if you play your cards right. But don't count your chickens before they hatch. Remember when Quaker Oats had that 'restructuring'? Some people got sweet deals, others got peanuts. My advice? Start networking NOW. Don't wait for the axe to fall before looking for a new gig. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, especially in this economy.
