Phillips 66 - Anyone else bracing for impact?

I'm not going to name names or departments, but I'm starting to feel like something is brewing at P66. Been reading a lot of industry news about the energy sector shifting, and it feels like we might be next in line for some tough decisions. There hasn't been a specific layoff announcement, and I don't want to spread unfounded panic, but the "vibe" is definitely off. Performance reviews felt a little more intense this cycle, and some managers seem more cagey than usual when asked about future plans. I've seen a few people quietly update their LinkedIn profiles with "seeking new opportunities," which is always a red flag in my book. Just wondering if I'm alone in this feeling or if others are picking up on the same undercurrents. Trying to stay professional and do good work, but it's hard not to worry when the tea leaves seem to be pointing in a less-than-ideal direction. Curious to hear if anyone has heard anything, even anecdotal, that might shed some light.

I've been picking up on similar signals. The industry is definitely in a transitional phase, and it's natural for companies to start evaluating their structures. It's wise to be aware of the broader trends, but also remember that 'vibe' can be subjective. Focus on your own performance and contributions, that's always the best defense, regardless of what's happening around you. Hopefully, it's just a bit of pre-emptive strategizing and not the beginning of anything major.

I hear you. There's a definite buzz of uncertainty, and it's hard to ignore. The energy sector is volatile right now, and consolidation or restructuring often follows. While I wouldn't jump to conclusions, it's smart to be prepared. Keeping your resume updated and networking actively is never a bad idea, no matter the company. Let's hope for the best, but prepare for a potential shift.
