Is anyone actually surprised by the June 20th numbers?

So here we are again. Another round of cuts on the 20th, and the news outlets are already swarming. I’ve been reading the NDTV reports and trying to gauge if there’s anyone left in my pod, but honestly, Slack feels like a ghost town today. Everyone is terrified to even type in the public channels after what happened with the internal tracker folks. It’s wild that they’d rather fire people for trying to organize data than just be transparent about the roadmap. I’ve been here for three years and I don’t even recognize the culture anymore. The pivot to AI isn't just a strategy change; it feels like they’re gutting the core product teams to pay for the GPU compute costs. The stock price tanking 20% back in May was the writing on the wall, but seeing friends get the boot via email on a Thursday is a gut punch. Is anyone else looking for an exit strategy immediately? I’m worried that if I stay, I’m just waiting for the next cycle of 'restructuring' to hit my desk in Q4. This place isn't what it used to be.

It is honestly depressing to watch the Slack channels turn into a graveyard. I remember when this place felt like a collaborative hub, but now the culture of fear is suffocating. If leadership thinks silencing people by cutting entire pods is going to fix the roadmap, they are delusional. They seem more concerned with protecting their public image than actually fixing the broken systems we deal with daily. It’s hard to keep showing up when you know your peers are being discarded for simply looking at the data.

Honestly, I’m not even shocked anymore. The June 20th timeline has been whispered about for weeks, and management just confirmed the worst fears. It’s a classic move: gut the teams that know where the bodies are buried—like the internal tracker folks—and hope the rest of us just keep grinding in silence. Transparency has been non-existent for a long time, and at this point, the lack of communication is a strategic choice rather than an accident. Good luck to everyone currently scrambling to find a landing spot.
