This is wild. If the company is transparent about layoffs, why punish people for wanting to track the numbers? It sounds like they're more concerned with controlling the narrative than addressing the reality of the situation. It's a really bad look. It makes you wonder what else is being swept under the rug. Employees deserve to know what's going on, especially when it affects their livelihoods.
I saw that too. It's baffling. You'd think in a crisis, the last thing you'd do is fire people trying to get a handle on the situation. It screams 'we don't want you to know the truth.' Whatever the internal reasoning, from the outside, it looks like a massive misstep. A company should be able to handle its employees tracking data, especially when it's about something as significant as job cuts.
