Rant: So tired of the constant uncertainty

Honestly, I'm just so over the constant anxiety. The tech industry is a mess, and Pinterest is no exception. Every week there's a new rumor, a new reorg, a new project getting canned. It's impossible to focus on my work when I'm constantly worried about whether I'll have a job next month. I bust my butt, put in the hours, and try to contribute meaningfully, but it never feels like enough. We're all just numbers on a spreadsheet to these executives. I wish they would be more transparent and just tell us what's going on instead of letting us twist in the wind.

I feel you. The lack of transparency is the worst. I remember back in 2018 when they did a 'restructuring' – suddenly half the team was gone, and we were all scrambling to pick up the pieces. It created so much unnecessary stress. My advice? Start documenting *everything* you do. Quantify your contributions. Makes it easier to update that resume, just in case.

Honestly, this sounds like pretty much every tech company these days. It sucks, but the reality is job security is a myth. You're right, we are just numbers. Maybe start looking around, just to see what's out there? Knowing you have options might ease your anxiety a bit. Or, if you really like the work itself, try to detach emotionally. Easier said than done, I know.
