PNC Bank - Anyone else seeing hiring freezes?

Hey everyone, lurking here for a while and wanted to get a pulse check. I've been hearing whispers through the grapevine about a significant slowdown in hiring across multiple departments at PNC. My manager has been really cagey about backfills for roles that have opened up, and I've seen a few critical positions just go dark on the careers page. It feels like more than just a normal seasonal dip. Has anyone else in different areas of the bank noticed this? Are projects being shelved or downscaled? Trying to get a sense if this is a targeted thing or a broader internal shift. Any insights from within would be super helpful. Trying to figure out what the broader strategy might be here without causing unnecessary panic.

Yeah, I've definitely felt a chill in the air too. My team's been trying to get a new role approved for months, and it's just been going nowhere. Lots of 'we're reassessing priorities' and 'budget constraints' talk. It's making it tough to even plan for the next quarter, let alone tackle new initiatives. I'm starting to worry about what this means for the longer term stability and growth within the company.

Interesting to hear this. I haven't seen a formal freeze announced, but the pace of approvals has certainly slowed to a crawl. We had a req open for a key position that was taken down last week with no explanation, which was odd. It does make you wonder if there's a broader strategy shift happening behind the scenes. I'm keeping my ears open for any more concrete information.
