Anyone else bracing for the next round of cuts?

So the 82 people at Chester got their notice this week, but let's be real—does anyone actually think leadership is stopping there? The vibe in the office has been absolutely toxic lately. I’ve been hearing rumblings that this isn't just about Chester; it feels like they’re gutting departments across the board to pad the margins before the end of Q3. I’ve been with PPG for years, and I’ve never seen morale this low. It’s hard to stay focused on projects when you’re constantly checking your inbox for an invite from HR. Is it just my division, or are other sites feeling this pressure too? I’m starting to update my resume just in case, but the job market is brutal right now. If anyone has intel on whether more sites are being eyed for consolidation, please share. I’d rather know what’s coming than be blindsided like the guys in PA.

It is getting impossible to ignore the writing on the wall. I’ve seen the same pattern repeated before every quarterly report, but this round feels colder than usual. Management keeps talking about streamlining and efficiency, yet they offer zero transparency about who is next on the chopping block. The constant anxiety is draining, and honestly, the talent drain is becoming obvious. It is hard to feel any loyalty when leadership treats veteran employees like nothing more than a line item they can delete to bump up stock value.

I honestly think the ship is just listing at this point. Everyone is keeping their heads down, but the air in the building is suffocating. I wouldn’t wait for another round of emails if you have the chance to move on. They are clearly prioritizing the spreadsheets over the actual people who built their reputation. It’s a shame because there used to be a sense of pride working here, but now it’s just about survival. Protect your peace and start polishing your resume before the next wave hits.
