I feel exactly the same way. It is honestly haunting walking the halls right now. That Chester news wasn't just a local issue; it feels like the beginning of a much larger wave of restructuring. When they start using terms like 'operational efficiency' and 'synergy,' the veteran employees know exactly what is coming next. The silence in the office is deafening, and watching everyone constantly check their email for those HR invites is just miserable. It is impossible to focus on actual projects when the culture is this broken and trust in leadership has completely evaporated.
I have been here for eight years and I have never seen morale this low. Management thinks they can just send out a few generic memos about 'streamlining' to keep us calm, but we are not naive. We all talk in the break rooms, and everyone is already updating their resumes. If you are waiting for a calendar invite, stop wasting your energy and start looking elsewhere. PPG is clearly moving toward a lean model that prioritizes the bottom line over the people who actually built this business. Protect yourself and get out while you can.
