PPG - Any whispers about budget cuts or hiring freezes?

Hey everyone, been at PPG for a few years now and lately, the vibe feels... different. Not overtly bad, but there's a definite chill. Heard some rumblings about tighter budgets for Q3/Q4, and a few new reqs that were open seem to have gone quiet all of a sudden. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on this, or if it's just my department feeling the pinch. Not seeing any official announcements, but the internal chatter about "efficiency" and "streamlining" is increasing. Anyone else hearing similar things or have insight into what might be brewing? Trying to get a sense of the broader picture before things get too real. Curious about experiences in other divisions too.

I've been hearing similar things in my division, though it's mostly been informal chats. It feels like a general tightening across the board rather than anything specific to one area. The 'efficiency' talk definitely rings true; seems like they're looking at ways to optimize resources. Hopefully, it's just a standard cyclical thing and not a sign of deeper issues.

My team hasn't had any direct communication about cuts or freezes, but there's a noticeable slowdown in approvals for new projects and a general sense of caution. I've noticed a few positions I was tracking disappear from the internal job board without explanation, which is a bit unusual. Just trying to stay informed.
