Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of chatter about layoffs across the industry, especially in chemicals. Wondering if anyone at PPG is hearing anything concrete or even just whispers about potential cuts coming down the pipeline? I haven't seen any official announcements or anything specific to us, but the general economic climate and the nature of the chemical sector make me a bit uneasy. Anyone in different departments or divisions noticing any slowdowns, hiring freezes, or unusual budget discussions? Trying to get a sense of where we stand before things potentially get hairy. No official word from my end, but I've noticed a bit of a slowdown in some project timelines recently. It's not drastic, but it's definitely there. I'm in coatings R&D, and while we haven't had any direct discussions about layoffs, there's a general feeling of caution. Hiring for non-essential roles seems to have stalled too. Might be worth keeping an eye on earnings calls for any hints they might drop, though they're usually pretty careful with their wording.
