Thoughts on the new restructuring announcement?

Just saw the internal memo regarding the organizational realignment. They are framing it as 'streamlining,' but we all know what that actually means for us on the ground. I’ve been through enough of these cycles at PPG to recognize the pattern—lots of vague promises about growth while they quietly shave off roles in middle management and support functions. It’s draining to come into work when half the team is just refreshing LinkedIn. If they are moving forward with these cuts, I really hope they at least provide a decent transition for those impacted. Anyone have experience with how they handled the packages in the last major round? Really frustrated with the lack of transparency right now.

Honestly, I’ve stopped paying attention to the buzzwords. Every time they talk about 'synergies' or 'streamlining,' it just means more work for the people left behind. The culture at PPG has shifted so much over the last few years; it feels less like a collaborative environment and more like a constant battle to prove your worth while they look for any excuse to trim headcount. I’m just trying to keep my head down, hit my targets, and collect my paycheck until I find something more stable elsewhere. This company isn't what it used to be.
