Feeling the uncertainty at PPL - Is it just me?

I'm not sure if it's just my specific team or if it's a broader PPL thing, but the atmosphere feels heavy lately. There's a lot of talk about efficiency drives and 'streamlining operations', which usually translates to something less pleasant down the line. I haven't seen any official layoff notices, but the way projects are being re-prioritized and some roles seem to be getting less defined is making me nervous. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on this, or if I'm just overthinking things. Trying to stay positive, but it's tough when you feel like you're walking on eggshells. Curious to hear if anyone else is in a similar boat.

I hear you. The 'efficiency' talk definitely makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. We've been seeing similar shifts here, with resources being subtly redirected and some initiatives quietly shelved. It's the quiet changes that often signal bigger shifts, isn't it? Keeping a close eye on internal communications and trying to stay visible with my contributions. Hope it's just a cyclical thing and not indicative of something more permanent.

You're not alone. There's a definite buzz of 'what if' going around. The emphasis on cost-saving measures feels more pronounced than usual, and it's creating a ripple of anxiety. While management is probably trying to frame it positively, the underlying message of 'do more with less' is hard to ignore. I'm focusing on skill development and networking just in case. Hopefully, it's just a temporary phase of restructuring.
