Is anyone else feeling the pressure at Principal lately?

Lately, work has felt… different at Principal. The workload seems to be increasing, but there's a definite undercurrent of uncertainty. I've noticed more 'do more with less' conversations, and some projects that seemed stable are now being re-evaluated. It's not like there are official layoff announcements, but the general atmosphere feels like we're bracing for something. Performance metrics seem to be under a microscope, and there's a bit more scrutiny on expenses and resource allocation across the board. I'm wondering if this is a company-wide thing or if it's just specific teams/departments feeling the pinch. Anyone else experiencing this shift in their day-to-day? Trying to stay positive and focused, but the lack of clear communication makes it tough.

I'm feeling it too. The 'efficiency' drive feels more intense than usual, and you can sense the underlying pressure to justify every position and every dollar. It's unsettling not knowing what the re-evaluations mean long-term. Hopefully, it's just a temporary phase focused on streamlining things, but the atmosphere is definitely tense.

Interesting to hear others feel the same way. The increased scrutiny on metrics and expenses is definitely noticeable. While I understand the need for fiscal responsibility, it's creating a challenging environment where everyone feels the need to be hyper-vigilant. Hoping for some clarity soon regarding the direction things are headed.
