Feeling uneasy about the Q3 targets

The targets they dropped on us this month are honestly laughable. It feels like they’re setting us up to fail so they have a justification to trim the fat in Q4. I’m seeing teams that were fully staffed just six months ago now struggling to keep their head above water, and yet nobody is being allowed to hire. I’m personally polishing my resume this weekend just in case. It’s better to be prepared and have nothing happen than to be caught off guard when the 'restructuring' announcement hits. Does anyone know if there’s a severance policy update currently in the works? I remember seeing a few chatter points about changes to the benefits packages, and it makes me wonder if they’re cleaning house behind the scenes. This place used to feel solid, but the current vibes are just off.

I’ve been tracking the internal shifts and it’s definitely a worrying trend. The leadership seems disconnected from the actual workload capacity on the ground. When they push these aggressive targets while simultaneously freezing headcount, it’s a classic precursor to a broader restructuring move. You're smart to update your resume now; it’s always better to control your own exit strategy before the narrative is forced upon you by upper management. Keep your head down, get your work done, and stay ready for whatever happens next month.

Honestly, the sentiment is the same across my department. It feels like the company is prioritizing optics for shareholders over the operational reality of the teams actually driving the revenue. The refusal to backfill roles while ratcheting up expectations is clearly designed to force people out without having to deal with the complexities of formal layoffs. If you're feeling the burnout, don't ignore it. Start networking and looking at the market now—the writing is clearly on the wall for anyone paying attention.
