Thoughts on the recent office space consolidation?

With the latest round of internal 'office space optimization' talk, I’m starting to wonder if the real estate footprint reduction is just a cover for something bigger. It’s hard not to look at the empty desks and feel like the writing is on the wall. I’ve heard rumors that some of the satellite offices are being pushed to shift to remote models permanently, which usually precedes a massive wave of cost-cutting. Management is playing it cool, acting like it's all about 'collaboration' and 'modernizing our workspace,' but we've seen this playbook before in the industry. Anyone else sensing that this is about more than just square footage? I’m genuinely concerned that if they decide to close certain hubs, those of us who can't relocate or don't fit the new 'lean' profile are going to be out the door before the Q4 earnings call. If you’re seeing similar trends in your branch, please chime in. It’s better to be prepared than caught off guard when the calendar invites start disappearing.

Prologis is shifting the narrative to 'collaboration' because admitting to austerity measures hurts morale, but the writing is clearly on the wall. They’ve been trimming the fat in real estate for a few quarters now, and the consolidation is just the final nail in the coffin for those satellite locations. Expect the next earnings call to frame this as an efficiency play, while the rest of us are left wondering who gets the axe once the desks are cleared out. It’s a standard corporate playbook, honestly.

I wouldn't overthink the 'collaboration' talk. It’s mostly just executive-speak for saving on overhead costs and property taxes in expensive markets. Prologis has always been aggressive about their portfolio management, and if they think they can squeeze out a bit more margin by forcing a hybrid model or shuttering underutilized offices, they’re going to do it. Just keep your resume updated and watch for the next round of 'restructuring' memos. It’s business as usual, just more sterile than before.
