The drip-feed strategy is definitely calculated. By keeping these rounds small, they avoid the optics of a massive layoff while slowly dismantling entire support structures. It creates a toxic environment where everyone is constantly looking over their shoulder, wondering if their department is next on the chopping block. At this point, the morale in Dallas is non-existent. If you’re not directly tied to a high-priority contract, assume the worst and start polishing your resume now. It’s better to be prepared than to be blindsided by another notice.
Honestly, this is just how RTX operates now. They are obsessed with protecting the bottom line and keeping the stock price stable at the expense of their workforce. The 'slow roll' approach is meant to prevent a mass exodus of talent they might still need, but it’s failing because the top performers are already leaving voluntarily. Staying in a 'non-essential' role right now is basically volunteering to be the next target. If you have the opportunity to jump ship to a competitor, don't wait for the inevitable email from HR.
