The shift in culture is palpable across almost every site. It feels like we’ve traded innovation for spreadsheets and cost-cutting metrics. When leadership stops communicating clearly, you’re left guessing if your project is next on the chopping block. It’s hard to stay invested in the mission when the people running the show seem to view engineering talent as just another line item to be trimmed to appease shareholders. You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way.
I’ve been around for a while, and the constant churn is exhausting. We used to focus on technical excellence, but now it feels like survival mode every single quarter. The recurring cycles of 'optimizations' have drained the institutional knowledge right out of the building. People are burnt out and keeping their resumes updated, which kills the collaborative environment we once had. It's tough to justify the stress when the company doesn't seem to prioritize keeping its own people.
