Just got the news. After 15 years. 15 YEARS. They said 'restructuring' and 'economic downturn.' I say bullshit. I busted my ass for this company, moved my family twice, and this is how they repay me? The VP gave the speech about how 'difficult these decisions were' and how 'they value our contributions.' Yeah, right. Now I'm scrambling to update my resume and figure out how to explain this to my kids. Honestly, I'm just so angry and disappointed. I knew the defense industry had its ups and downs but never thought I'd be one of the casualties. Anyone else feel completely betrayed? Guess I'll start networking... Good riddance to RTX, I hope the next program fails. My manager couldn't even look me in the eye.

That's rough, buddy. Fifteen years is a long time to dedicate to a company. "Restructuring" is corporate speak for 'we want to goose the stock price.' Been there, felt that. Don't let the anger consume you. Take a breath, update that resume, and hit LinkedIn hard. Lean on your network. Something will turn up. You've got experience that's valuable.

Yeah, I've seen this happen too often in defense. It's a business, and loyalty doesn't always pay the bills. While your anger is understandable, consider this: maybe it's an opportunity. Fifteen years is enough to build up a solid skill set. Explore other industries. Maybe find something that's less boom-and-bust.
