Just got an update from HR (sort of) regarding open requisitions. Apparently, there's a temporary hold on all new external hiring across multiple divisions. This wasn't communicated broadly, just trickled down through management. While they're calling it a 'strategic pause,' it sure feels like a precursor to something more. Is anyone else's department experiencing this? And more importantly, is this impacting internal transfers or promotions at all? Getting worried this isn't just about filling spots, but a sign of things to come. Anyone have insights from other defense giants about how these pauses usually play out?

My team in [redacted] has definitely felt this. We had a few roles open that just went dark a couple of weeks ago, no explanation given. Management is being really cagey about it. It's creating some uncertainty, especially with the holiday season approaching. I'm hoping it's truly temporary and doesn't mean a broader slowdown. Keep us posted if you hear anything more concrete.

Heard whispers about this too, though nothing official. It's a bit concerning, especially given the current market.
