Rumor mill: Possible Q3 cuts in RIS?

Heard some chatter from a usually reliable source that there might be some staff reductions coming to the RIS (Raytheon Intelligence & Space) business unit in Q3. Apparently, some projects are getting cancelled or delayed, and they're looking to trim costs. Anyone else hearing anything similar? I'm a systems engineer in Aurora, CO, and things seem busy, but you never really know what's going on behind closed doors. Trying to decide if I should start updating my resume...

I'm not in RIS, but I'm in another RTX business unit and we've been feeling the pressure too. Profit margins are definitely being scrutinized harder than usual. Senior leadership keeps talking about 'efficiency improvements' and 'right-sizing' which usually translates to headcount reductions. If your gut is telling you something is off, it's probably worth taking some precautions. Dust off that resume and start networking, just in case. Better to be prepared than caught off guard.

Take it with a huge grain of salt. These rumors pop up every quarter, especially around earnings season. Someone probably overheard something out of context and now it's spreading like wildfire. I've been at Raytheon for 15 years and I've seen this cycle play out repeatedly. Unless you see official communication, I wouldn't panic. Focus on your work, keep your head down, and try not to get sucked into the rumor mill vortex.
