Regeneron: Anyone else feeling the pressure on budgets?

What's the deal with budgets at Regeneron lately? Seems like every request for new equipment, software, or even travel is getting scrutinized to an insane degree. My manager's been stonewalling on even minor purchases, saying we need to 'optimize existing resources' and 'demonstrate essentiality.' It's definitely a change from a few months ago when things felt a bit more free-flowing. I'm not hearing specific layoff talk, but this kind of tight-fisted approach to spending makes me nervous. Are other teams seeing this? Is it just my department or is there a company-wide push for cost-saving that nobody's talking about openly? Just trying to understand if this is a sign of things to come or just some temporary belt-tightening. Let me know if you're experiencing this too.

I'm definitely feeling it too. It's like a switch flipped a couple of months ago. Every single expense, no matter how small, requires multiple levels of approval and a novel-length justification. Even routine training requests are being pushed back. It creates a lot of frustration and slows down projects. Trying to stay optimistic, but it does make you wonder what's going on behind the scenes.

Yeah, the budget tightening is palpable. My team is struggling to get approval for basic supplies, let alone any upgrades. The 'optimize existing resources' line is getting old.
