Lurking on here for a while, and seeing a lot of chatter about potential layoffs across the industry, and Republic Services isn't immune. I haven't heard anything official, but there have been some quiet departures in my department, and a few positions that were supposed to be backfilled haven't been. It feels like management is trying to be really tight-lipped about everything. Has anyone heard anything from their managers, HR, or even through the grapevine that's more substantial than just 'efficiency' talk? I'm trying to prepare myself and my family just in case, but the lack of transparency is making it impossible to get a clear picture. Yeah, I've definitely felt a shift lately. My division's been under a lot of pressure to cut costs, and it seems like headcount is always the first thing on the chopping block. It's unnerving not getting clear communication. I'm hoping it's just a temporary belt-tightening, but the lack of transparency is what's really getting to people. I haven't heard anything direct from management either, which is a bit worrying. There's been a lot of talk about restructuring and efficiency drives in the meetings, but nothing concrete about layoffs. Some folks in my local branch have mentioned that hiring freezes are definitely in effect, and some training programs have been scaled back. Hopefully, it's just a standard business cycle adjustment, but it's hard to shake the feeling that something is brewing.
