Anyone else bracing for the next round after MS?

So the news about the 35 folks in Mississippi getting cut is finally circulating. Management sent out the usual corporate fluff about 'optimizing operations' and 'aligning for the future,' but we all know the drill by now. It’s never just one location. My manager has been acting weird for weeks, dodging one-on-ones and looking panicked whenever the topic of Q2 projections comes up. I’m honestly just waiting for the calendar invite to appear out of nowhere. Is this happening at other sites or is it just isolated to the southern region? Thinking about updating my resume tonight because I don’t want to be caught off guard when they decide to pull the plug on my department. The lack of transparency here is exhausting.

Same thing is happening at our branch. Leadership keeps talking about 'synergies' and 'streamlining,' which is just code for layoffs. My supervisor has been ghosting everyone for the past two weeks, and we just lost three people in logistics last Tuesday. It feels like the writing is on the wall, and morale is absolutely cratering. We’re all just refreshing our email inboxes waiting for the ax to fall. I’m already polishing my resume because nobody here is safe if they’re cutting deep in Mississippi.

I wouldn't hold your breath for transparency. When they start using that 'optimizing operations' language, it’s always the precursor to a site-wide sweep. My team just saw a round of budget freezes, and they canceled all our travel and training for the rest of the year. If they’re cutting costs that aggressively, it’s only a matter of time before they start cutting heads. Just keep your head down, do the work, and start looking for an exit strategy immediately. It’s better to be prepared than surprised.
