RS - Question about recent internal communications

Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to Republic Services and trying to get a feel for the company culture and stability. Lately, I've noticed the internal comms seem a bit more guarded, especially regarding future strategic plans or significant investments. It's subtle, but there's less transparency than I've experienced elsewhere. Combine that with some of the rumors circulating online about potential restructuring in the industry, and I'm starting to feel a bit uneasy. I haven't seen any official announcements or layoff reports, but the lack of clear communication about the 'big picture' is making me nervous about job security. Does anyone have insight into why comms might be so tight-lipped right now? Is this normal for RS, or is it a sign of underlying issues? Just trying to prepare myself and understand the landscape better.

I've been with Republic for a while now and have seen shifts in communication before. It's not always a sign of trouble; sometimes it's just a change in how they want to roll out information or a focus on operational details. The industry *is* always evolving, so it's understandable they might be careful about what's shared publicly or even internally before plans are solid. Hang in there and focus on your role, stability often comes from solid performance within your department.

I understand your concern about the internal comms feeling more guarded. It's definitely unnerving when you're looking for clarity and it feels a bit scarce. The industry is indeed facing changes, and that can create uncertainty. Try not to get too caught up in online rumors; they often blow things out of proportion. Keep observing, and if specific operational issues arise that impact your work, address those directly with your manager. Usually, the day-to-day operations remain steady even when strategic discussions are happening behind the scenes.
