Another round of cuts? The vibe in the office is dead

It feels like we’re back to the same old song and dance. I saw the news about the 81 people getting the boot in August and honestly, it’s just exhausting. Every time I log on, I'm half-expecting to see my access revoked or a meeting invite from HR with a vague subject line. Management keeps talking about 'optimizing operations' and 'navigating market headwinds,' but those are just buzzwords for trimming the fat while the rest of us are left to cover the workload of three people. I’ve been at Reyes for a few years now, and the culture has shifted drastically. It used to feel like a stable place to build a career, but now it’s all about meeting arbitrary quarterly targets regardless of the human cost. For those of us still here, the anxiety is palpable. You look around the floor and everyone is just keeping their heads down, terrified of being the next one on the chopping block. Is anyone actually looking for an exit strategy, or are we all just waiting for the next WARN notice to drop? I’m genuinely curious if the leadership team has any plan other than cutting headcount every six months to appease shareholders. It’s draining.

I hear you. The way leadership hides behind corporate jargon while dumping double the workload on the remaining staff is beyond demoralizing. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder wondering if you’re next on the chopping block. At this point, the 'optimization' talk just feels like a countdown. Most of us are just counting down the days until we find something more stable. Don't let them burn you out entirely while you look for your exit strategy.

That atmosphere sounds absolutely toxic. It's the classic Reyes move: treat people like disposable line items on a spreadsheet rather than actual human beings. If they are making people cover three roles at once, they clearly don't care about retention or burnout. Honestly, if you've been there a while and have the skills, start polishing your resume now. Being the last one standing in a place that treats its workforce like an inconvenience isn't a badge of honor, it's just a trap.
